I am going to order new handle bars for the bike soon. I really don't like the angle at which my wrist are forced to be at when holding the grips. I would like the stock bars if I could just bend the grips a little more straight so my wrest would be in a more natural position. Now that you know what I am looking for do you think that these are closest to what I am looking for Handlebar www.z1enterprises.com/detail.aspx?ID=2743 , does anyone have these on there bike? I think that these are close to what I have now www.z1enterprises.com/detail.aspx?ID=2742 BTW 7/8" is the right size, right? I would appreciate any input you may have. Thanks.

7/8" is correct. I Tried putting some drag style bars, with very little rise and the master cylinder wouldnt clear the forks/tank.

1980 CSR 1000. New dyna Coils, Vacumn Less Petcock, Various Handle bars depending on the day, (Drag and Clubman.)

Here are the bars I have installed on every 750 twin I've kept for any time.

I have only had one 82 750 CSR, and I sold that one ASAP (I don't like the LTD/CSR models, takes to much work to make them into something I can live with) so I didn't try the Superbike bars on it. That means that I don't know if the handlebar clamps are the same as the 76-80 models, so you really need to measure outside to outside on your handlebar clamps. The 76-80 require a minimum center distance of 4.75" or the handlebar clamps won't clamp the bars properly, and the two you listed have a center distance of 4.5"

My center needed to be bigger than 4.5 also...
I went w/ these, gave the bike a MUCH better feel & look.

I just measured the center and I believe a 5" wide center is the bare minimum I can get away with. What other kind of handlebars are you guys running?

You have the same center distance as the earlier 750 twins then, and that means the 4.75" center bars will work, just don't go any narrower.

Looks like the same dimensions as my current Superbike bars on my 750 twin, so they should work. The caps may not bolt down totally flat, but they do hold the bars securely (mine do anyway, for the three bars I have installed).

I'll be ordering a couple of those for myself sooner or later.

Before Jeff and z1enterprises was selling bars, I got mine from:

...but the dimensions they list for the superbike bars now don't match what the bars are that I got from them. I don't know what's up with that... either way, what you wrote is about right.

Just remember what may or may not be obvious to you... like that the mast cylinder is going to be a VERY tight fit... I even loosened the banjo on mine a tad and moved it... I eventually just changed my brake line to stainless braided anyway, and that was a good thing!!! The stock brakeline gets mighty cramped up there... and you'll have to re-route the clutch cable to the other frame down-rail or something...
