Can this be done without destroying the grip, and if not, what is the best way to retain the new grip? Don't even ask me how I broke the perch, while installing a new mirror, that seemed a "liitle" tight. Did you know the mirror hole on the top of the perch is not blind?

incognito0160 Offline User Posts: 27 Thank you received: 0	From my experience you will not be able to save the grip. I cut mine of with a utility knife and bout new one. I then used hair spray. Applied it to the handle bar and slide my grip on. I believe that's what the instructions said as well.

I have had good luck using a wide blade flat screwdriver to gently pry up the edge of the grip. I then spray WD-40 or PB Blaster under the grip. Alternate working the screwdriver and spraying the grip. Sometimes a small bit of heat applied to the bars helps the stubborn ones. I have NEVER lost a grip yet...this does work.

RomSpaceKnight Offline User Posts: 452 Thank you received: 2	I've had some luck using compressed air. A small nozzle slipped under the edge might lift the grip enough to slide off. Use dish soap as a lube as it will eventually wash away.

tfh903 Offline User Posts: 109 Thank you received: 8	I use a long thin screwdriver and either slick soapy water or wd40. gently pry up and then work the screwdriver all the way around adding slippery stuff , then twist and pull.

MaddMaxx Offline User Posts: 19 Thank you received: 0	I just did one last night and the same method always works for me, crank the compressor up, lodge the nozzle under the grip and pull the handle. As the air enters the area around the grip pull and twist. No need for lubes or anything else until you go to put it back on.
