Shortest stock KZ clutch cable? was created by Robinjo
I'm in need for a new clutch cable for my Z1 powered Moto Martin, currently the bike has some normal touring bars on it but the bike is meant to have clip-ons to compliment the race fairing, this leaves me with lots of unneeded cable lenght if I order a stock Z1 cable.

I'm new to old Kawa's but there must be models which have sportier handlebars (Z1R?) and taller ones (LTD)?

Or can you get different lenghts aftermarket?

A cable from a Z1R is going to be about the shortest you can find from the OEM that I know of. I did find a couple Motion Pro or Barnett (can't remember which) that were either 2" or 4" shorter than a normal Kz. Shorter aftermarket cable are out there but hard to find. Most people just go with a Z1R cable.

Try contacting Z1 Enterprises. They sell Motion Pro cables and I'm pretty sure Motion Pro is willing to make custom length cables.

That is the shortest readily available cable. The Z1R has bars with only a 2"-2.5" or so rise (50mm-65mm).

Motion Pro makes any length you need. We have worked with Motion Pro to make a number of custom cables - some just shorter /longer versions of stock cables, others having different ends where alternate carbs or throttle assemblies are fitted.

Or wait a little 'till Jeff posts in my topic. :)

I've tried the clip-on bars seating position but didn't like them, fitted a set of aluminum Superbike bars instead.B) Will order a cable along with some other stuff as I make a list.

Thanks guys for the info!

Custom cables - depending on what is needed, they range from around $25 up to $50 each.
