I need to replace my rear brake system on a 77kz1000, what all do I need to do?
77kz1000 mikuni carbs,\"cafe style\"4to1 kerker exhaust....want to buy full brake system for 77kz1000 or interchangeable brake system and rear caliper or individual parts from anot

Question, please. Is it that some or all of the rear brake system components are missing, or deemed too far gone for restoration?

Some of these old components can look awful, but still be feasible to refurbish.

Obtaining used replacement brake system parts often requires overhauling them before installation.

Am thinking if master cylinder and caliper kits are going to be needed regardless, why not use them on the existing components.

Just a thought.

So you are saying just to rebuild the existing parts?

That is sometimes a feasible option. Depends largely on degree of pitting in the bores, which requires disassembly to inspect. Will likely require an excellent shop manual. :)
