These must have some secret to them? Is it a push and 1/4 turn or something? I have no manual on this one, and no partsfiche!
Never had a fork like this before!

Let out all of the air in the fork. With one hand hold the fork tube, second hand pushes the cap in to the fork, and with your third hand you have to remove the "C" clip that is in the groove preventing the cap from coming out (dental pick or small screw driver).
Good Luck.

I used a nut driver that I put on top of the valve cap and it gave me a bit more grip to push with, and then picked out the clip.

Thanks so much! I have four hands (a helper) so it is a "can do"- thanks again!
Now-how much fork oil in these things?

You're welcome!
As for the oil, I have no idea. I only have a manual for the KZ750-4. Is this a KZ550?

I put a larger socket wrench socket on it, gave it a good wack to kind of break the "seal" (not a real seal, but since it's been sitting for a while. then I bolted the bottom tube to a wood table I have at the shop using the caliper mounts. pull up on the tube while pushing down with another object on the top part (with air inlet) and once I have that moved a little, pry that circlip out and go find where it flung to! haha.
