GPz750 wheels on KZ650?

The wheel on my 77 KZ650C1 weigh a ton. I’m thinking about swapping out for something a bit lighter if it’s not too much trouble. I’m wondering if the wheels off the 83-85 GPz750’s are much lighter. I’ve seen a photo with these wheels on a KZ650 and they look great. So that’s my question…. Are the GPz wheels lighter and if so, by how much? I belive I read somewhere that the rear would have to be swaped along with the swing arm to fit on the KZ650 but I'm thinking the front wheel may fit with just the right spacers.

The KZ650 with GPz750 wheels wouldn't be the purple one would it?

That one has GPz750 forks on it also, GPz750 wheel is entirely to wide across the hub to fit in the KZ650 forks. Plus the GPz750 axle is larger in diameter.

99 (and other years I'm sure) GSX600/750 front ends are an easy swap to the 650/750's, and a whole lot lighter than the GPz750 front end.

Bare GPz750 front wheel weighed 10 lbs (IIRC, I weighed one about a week ago.)
