i need front brakes..i have none

so yea i need front brakes..well i have none actually. i have a 1978 kz200. there is no master, no lines or caliper. only the disc. Can u let me know if i can put another set up there or some sort of swap. maybe kz250 is the same? or kz305??. also i need a clutch cable.... is a kz250 or 305 or anything the same for the kz200 clutch cable or front brakes? thanx!!

The KZ200 uses a unique brake on the front like no other model. It has a cable going all the way from the lever down to the caliper and that's it. There is no master cylinder. I'm not even sure if it's hydraulic. I think it's just a mechanical disc setup. Only used on KZ200, KZ250 had drum front brake and KZ305 had more conventional hydraulic. Also the clutch cable was a KZ200 only part. Hard to say if other models parts will fit or not, they all carry a different part number.

If you want to take a measurement of the caliper mounting holes center to center I can check one of my 305's to see if it might work on your bike. Kaw did make a slick little 250 (basically a 305 with a smaller bore size) for the rest of the world that was a 2 cylinder and it had a hydraulic front brake. If the 305 system will bolt up you will probably be able to buy what you need cheaper than trying to buy the OEM stuff for your bike. It will also be a better braking system.

well it seized up on me the other day anyways. i had no oil in it. i thought my freind put some in but he didine. i was trying to time it when it locked up. cyclnder is fine. i just honed it out. the cam bearings was worn a little but i said what they heak. threw it all together and ran it. runs fine. when the first time i shut it off form running it for about a minutue white smoke came from the carb??? is that okay?? and also the mounting bracket is 1/2 inch away form the rotor on side of braket and with the bolts out of the holes for the caliper it is 2 7/8 inches far apart mearsurung the outside of the bolt holes. thanx
