Show Me Your Bike Stand (KZ1000 LTD)

Found a shot of the bike on jack stands where the center stand would mount. I just strap down the rear end if I need the front wheel off the ground.

Did you ever decide on a stand? I got my new stand recently and it works great with the old center stand bolts! $67 shipped to my door:

Now that I really like. That stand is cool too. What wheels and swing arm are you using? Did you have to custom fit the shocks? That bike looks so serious.

The swingarm is a 6" over model from Klasmo in Germany. The wheels are factory KZ wheels that were widened and chrome plated. The front is a 3.5x18 (78 Z1-R wheel, widened) and the rear is a 6.0x17 (LTD 1000 16" wheel widened and stepped up to 17" ). I had the front wheel done at Kosman and the rear by Klasmo. Stock shocks work fine, but I found some shorter ones and changed the bushings to fit the KZ. They are about 12" instead of 13.5". I also had the bottom shock mounts placed 1" to the rear so it's like I have a built-in lowering kit. I'm almost done with the rebuild and can't wait to ride it!

The only problem with the jack stands is that you need to jack up the bike somehow and then put the stands underneath and then lower the bike onto the stands. I like the new stand much better because you just slip it under the centerstand bolts and lift it as high as you like. I just strap down the rear end if I need the front wheel off the ground. It basically works like a really tall (and adjustable) center stand.

my 1000 has the holes for the stand, but dudnt come with one, I had a extra center stand from a 650 , so I used the chop saw to cut the center sections out of the stand, slide a long rod in thru the stand, works like a champ
