Swingarms...

Anyone have web-sites, names, etc.of amyone or shop that builds swingarms? I want a chromoly steel arm about 8"-10" over built to pivot so I can use shocks. May want to add bracing, battery box and have it sealed so I can store air in the arm as well. Possibly a bottle mount for a nitrous bottle. First, any help in names. etc. to get me started would be good. This will be for a drag/strip bike so it has to be built right...don't want to have to worry about the welds at 150 mph! LOL

easiest thing to do is mod an existing swingarm from a newer bike, that way most of the hard work is already done for you;)

Send a message to 531blackbanshee on here. He is building arms to whatever specs you need. I'm going to have him build me one in a couple of months that will hold a 02 gsxr1000 wheel for my 78 kz1000. He said it will be around $350 for a six over. I'll probably have air in it and a battery box so it'll be a little more.

Here's couple of sites I found when converting my KZ900...
Not sure which bike your modifying but these should give you some idea of what the $$$ and possibilities are...

Unfortunately, none of these are for a drag racing concept as you have mentioned but more for show.

I just had this one made by a mechanic at the Kawi dealer who races old Kawis.
It's a stock kz650C3 arm with Chrome-molly bracing and spools added for a rear stand:

i built my own with 1".065 wall 4130 chro-mo.i built it to house a 17x6 r1 yamaha wheel and extended it two inches.i like the way it turned out and the big contact patch sure feels stable in the corners.the brembo brake hauls it down from speed nicely.
pre shock bracket welding.

after 1st ride :woohoo: .
