replacing my chain and sprockets on a 76 750
08 Apr 2008 15:04
I have searched for help in the archive and came up with nothing.
I am going to be replacing the stock chain and sprockets tomorrow with a 530 chain, 17t front and 41t rear.
Just want to know what I need to watch for. i have only done this on a bicycle before. Is it much harder?
I know to adjust the tensioner and all, but if anyone can direct me to a DIY site or whatever, it will be much appreciated.

If the '76 750 is like my '79 750, I think it came stock with a 16T front and a 38T Rear. I am not sure why you would want to go 17/41. (?)
Is it hard? Getting the engine sprocket off can be a bear and you will need to buy a BIG honking socket to fit the nut on the shaft.
The rear is not too bad to change.
