I believe that any of the earlier KZ1000 seats might work. They have hinges like the CSR has and are flat. I can check on my bike if the hinge spacing is the same and let you know. if in fact this works, your possibilities are quite extensive. The GPZ seat I converted was quite a job, a lot of cutting and plastic welding. I do like the GPZ seat quite a bit due to its shape but lots of work. A Z1-R seat might be a bit more easy to convert because of the metal pan. the plastic pan on the GPZ seat makes it a real Bitch to do. (can I say that word here?)Anything I can help with let me know.

Otto, I have an '82 CSR & a '78 LTD. I can tell you that those seats are NOT directly interchangeable. Hinge spacing is different. I don't know if the "A" models were different.

Hey guys. I'm still a newbie here, but have found lots of good info from all of you. I just bought a 1982 KZ1300 last fall, and I have a few things I would like to change. Thanks elcid for info on the seat padding. You are right the birthday cake has to go. kzcsi is one great person, very helpful. I live in Michigan, and the weather is still a problem right now, but going to the 50's this week, lets ride... Thank you all again!!!!!!!!!

I was to lazy to do something cool like these other guys, I bought a Corbin "Gunfighter and Lady" around 300 bucks but it's nice and firm and looks good.

Sure it looks OK now, but wait until I really make it pretty, with some chrome and paint and some new tires and grips and the wiring. Don't forget the gearing, and the LED's and, and, and....
