replacement seat--82 CSR 1000---something more flat wld be nice?? Any ideas?

I would like to replace my original seat with something
more conventional:( -- something flatter would be nice.
Can seats from other KAW models fit the CSR?

Yeah take off the vinyl cover & get rid of that giant birthday cake sized foam! And replace with some sunmate memory foam. This stuff is amazing! Very comfortable with only one inch of foam.

You don't have to be a pro upholsterer. Just cut it to size & put the vinyl cover over it. Stretch it into place & attach to those triangle tabs. Mine looks & feels great. There are many different comfort levels of the memory foam on that site. I would choose the "pudgee" as your top layer & then the go in order below it. I have each layer being a half inch. I started with 3 x .5 inches but then it still seemed too high. So I removed a layer & it feels fine.

I believe that any of the earlier KZ1000 seats might work. They have hinges like the CSR has and are flat. I can check on my bike if the hinge spacing is the same and let you know. if in fact this works, your possibilities are quite extensive. The GPZ seat I converted was quite a job, a lot of cutting and plastic welding. I do like the GPZ seat quite a bit due to its shape but lots of work. A Z1-R seat might be a bit more easy to convert because of the metal pan. the plastic pan on the GPZ seat makes it a real Bitch to do. (can I say that word here?:blush:)Anything I can help with let me know.
