Hey guys, I have a 1980 KZ750 LTD and I am having a terrible time installing the upper, outer race on my bike. The bottom race went in with ease, but the top one (even after leaving in the freezer most the day) just wont drop (or hammer!) in far enough to set flush with the top of the frame. It seems as if there is a lip at the bottom that the race is butting up against, causing the race to stick up about an 1/8th of an inch above the frame =(

Any ideas?

Looks like you have the old race still in the neck. Be careful getting it out. Make sure it comes out straight so it doesnt gouge the inside of the neck bore.

Man, I feel like an idiot. I spent a good two hours trying to fix something that took me five minutes to do after your post. I suppose I learned a lesson the hard way tonight. I appreciate the help!
