Fork Rebuild? was created by TkdFav
I bought an 82 kz550 last year, it sat for 4 to 5 years. After rebuilding the carbs and some major cleaning it was running great last summer, I filled the forks to the recommended psi but they still bottom out. I'm assuming, there is little to no fork oil left, when I took the bike out of storage there was no signs of a leak. I'm planning on changing the oil (if there is any left), Since it sat so long, should I save myself the time and rebuild it while I have it apart. Just wanted some opinions, and any places that sell rebuild kits, or should I buy the parts individually?

Hey TK,

There's no bout a doubt it. You should do a rebuild. I've arranged for KZR members to get a discount at Doug's cycle Shop in Salisbury, Mo to get a discount on Kawasaki parts all you have to do is mention KZRider.com.
