Front Rim Width and Tire Size

I am looking at tires and I am away from my bike.

Does anyone know what the rim size on a 1981KZ750H2 is? 2.15" or 2.5"?

I am currently running a 100/90-19 front but am considering a 110/90-19. Anyone running this on this size rim?

Thanks.

Probably a 19x1.85 rim . I'd probably stay with the stock tire size . Why add weight to an already heavy wheel/tire combo ?

I checked the bike out last night and the front rim is 1.85" wide. I will be sticking to what works; 100/90-19.

As to why a 110/90-19 tire?

A good deal came by on a 110/90-90 tire that I wanted to try out.

A good deal is hard to refuse , I know . The reason that I am aware that a 110/90 tire is so BIG is because I acquired a new Metzeler Laser , that is mounted but unused , when I bought a KZ1000 Police front wheel . It's far too big to use on the GPz550 that I bought the wheel for , it's probably as big as the stock size rear tire . In fact I will probably mount it on the rear of my GPz305 since the prev. owner saw fit to mount a rear tire about 2 sizes too big (too big for the centerstand to lift the rear off the ground).

It seems like nearly every old bike that I see has oversized tires on it , but the stock sizes seem to perform best in most cases .

I have always used stock tire sizes on all of my bikes. The deal was good but no so good that I couldn't pass it up.
I once bought a bike with one size too big tire on the front and one size too small on the back. The bike ran and handled well. Shortly after the purchase, I realized that the tires were the wrong size. Wore them out and replaced them the proper size tires (which also happened to be Avon radials instead of Metzeler bias ply) and wow! Like a whole new bike!
