I came across these doing some research on more affordable piggy backs,

www.mikesxs.net/mikesxs-suspension.php?category_id=6.1

Same price as the ones on ebay but I think they look better (no adjustable linkages which seams like it'd be a weak point to me, just my $.02). The progressive wound non-reservoir shocks lower on the page look to be a really good deal too, all this assuming they perform as good as they look.

They look identicle to the "Vipex" shocks that were sold with some volume to the CB900 F-ers.

I have a buddy right here with a pair- he says they are great, but too stiff. I have been asking about buying them, but I think they are the same as the Frenchy offered ones. And they come in red or silver- my colors this year.

I may give them a whirl! ;)

I just bought a set myself, white ones w/ double spring $249 inc. shipping. Only took a week to show up, sort of... DHL left a tag yesterday that we had to sign as we were not home should get them today. I got the double spring because they also advertised these work on the cb500 and I figured my 1000 was a little heavier altho' I'm only 175#. I don't expect to be able to try them out for a few weeks as I did a teardown this winter, paint this weekend, wheels, harness, bars etc. to put on. Will let you know how they work. My only concern was if down the road (years I hope)I wanted to rebuild or recharge are parts available?
I guess I should contact the seller.

Since this appears to be a double topic post ;), has anyone seen or have done a beef-up of the stock swing arm?

Yup, just got them yesterday. And they are stiff...hope they "wear in" a little. Not exactly the ones pictured tho'(still white springs but adjusting rings are silver intead of blue and gold also the bottom shock mount is silver instead of blue as pictured). Also they are NTC (NICETECT) shocks instead of POSH Racing Project shocks and they came from Hong Kong. To get them to stock height you have to use the additional "Y" parts for the bottom shock mounts. I'll have to play with them to see what height I want. By the way, you can fill these w/ nitrogen, air or nothing to 3-4 bars of pressure...does that equate to pounds of pressure?
