Has anyone ever removed or covered up raised white lettering on tires?

I have an opportunity to get some new tires for cheap but i don't want the white letters.

Any ideas??

Thanks,

Tom

If you don't want the raised white letters, don't buy them. Otherwise, buy the tires for cheap and just ride on them.

It's sorta like getting a haircut you don't like. Eventually, it won't matter...

I wouldn't advise trying to remove the letters, but if looks are so important to you... try some black spray paint.

With car tires the white is a full layer under a black layer. I see them often at work where they have been rubbed off and they look like white walls.

harm, been where you are. I just used a black "magic marker", after all it's permenent! May have to touch up once or twice a year but works.

From what I've seen, all motorcycle tires with RWL are either listed as being a "touring/cruiser" compound (ie: long lasting and decent traction, but not really good for hittin' the twisties on) or an OEM replacement (inexpensive, "get 'em out the door" tire).

So depending on what type of riding you do, that's something you might want to take into consideration when looking for a "great deal" on tires. ;)

Bluemeanie's suggestion is probably the cheapest and most simple solution to perform.
Dealing with RWL on autos is soooo much simplier though - just have the RWL side mounted facing inwards and it's a done deal! That's what I've always had done with the tires on my 4x4 truck. :P
