Spoke Wheels for 83 KZ750

I am wanting to get a set of spokes for my 1983 KZ750. Anyone have advice as to where and what bikes I could get these from. I am new to my KZ and am just looking to fix her up before it gets warm so I can enjoy the ride.

Do you mean '83, the one in your sig? Is that a twin or four cyl?

Yeah that was a typo. It is a 1983 and a twin.

I have a set of spoked wheels from my 81 KZ1000csr which should bolt right on. The front is a 19" and the rear is a 16" you can email me dirrectly at otto@condormodels.com and I can send you pictures and speciffics. If anyone here knows weather this is true let us know.

This is what I have found out. Your bike has the exact same size wheels as I have from the CSR. The front wheel will bolt right on. The problem is the back wheel. Your bike is one of the last bikes made with a drum brake. There are very few wheels made in the 16" size which has a drum brake. The one I have is mad for a disc brake. You might have to go to a 18" rear like from a KZ900, with a narrower tire.

To start with I agree with JMKZHI in that I like the mag wheels much better (easier to clean and nothing to maintain). If you are determined to make the swap though, the rear wheel from the 650 CSR will be a bolt on swap. The front wheel will be as well but if you do swap wheels with someone make sure you get the front rotor with the wheel. Your rotor will not swap to the 650 CSR front wheel and the wheel for the 650 CSR uses a rotor that is unique to that wheel. I've got a spoked rear wheel from a 650 CSR I could trade out with you but the major drawback will be that the shipping costs on wheels tend to be rather high. Where are you located? I have the front wheel as well but I have already sold the rotor so it won't be much use to you.

Nope, the 650 CSR is a 16" wheel with drum brakes.

yeah duh i meant 16"
