Hi, I'm planning on getting newer zx wheels for my kz650 project, and I have a few questions. Should I get zx forks so the wheel is a "bolt on"? I have been reading in the achives about swapping steering stems, still not 100% sure how to do it. Which is easier, getting a zx wheel to fit on my stock kz forks (I'm assuming some custom spacers and possibly bearings along with brackets for the new dual disk brakes will be needed) or doing the steering stem swap? Also, once the wheel does fit, what issues will I have getting a speedo to work? Will I need a complete new one? Any tips on what years/sizes of parts to look for ect would be very helpful. Thanks to all for any help with this.

I don't think your going to get a ZX wheel into the KZ forks, as the wheel is too wide. You will need to switch the whole front end. Easier to do the whole thing and just work out the stearing stem than trying to figure out "custom spacers and possibly bearings along with brackets for the new dual disk brakes will be needed".

A similar question was asked not too long ago. Try a search.
