kickstand
09 Feb 2008 11:57
hi guys. i have an 81 1000j elr clone. my bike leans wayyyy over when on the kickstand. i was wondering if it would be possible to remove the stand , have it cut and have a piece of solid tubing welded in the middle to make it longer so that it would stand more upright. is this a stupid cure and if so , any other ideas/comments would be appreciated. cheers.

When I first got my 650 it leaned way over too. I took it apart and found that the bolt was bent a little. I got a new hardened bolt at the hardware and replaced the old one. Problem solved, in my case anyway.
