650CSR front end help.
21 Jan 2008 18:33
I am haveing trouble finding a straight answer in the forum "library".
I want duel disks and a 17" spoke front on my 650CSR,
what is the best route to go?
I am not so worried about the rake angle debate on my CSR, but maybe it would be cheaper to get a pre H model
KZ to cafe out?
Also I saw someone put GPZ forks on a 750 LTD, would that work for me?
Basically I was hopeing for a bolt on fix, is it possible?

This might help.
I put my 81 KZ1000M1 front end on my 81 KZ650H1.
It required the bearings to be changed but that was it.
If I remember correctly...
The KZ650H1 bearings are 30x48x16mm top and 30x52x17mm bottom
The KZ1000M1 bearings are 25x47x15mm top and 28x52x16.5mm bottom
So the new bearings would be
25x48x16 top
28x52x17 bottom
Other than the bearings it was a straight fit. And you get the bonus of new tapered bearings!

I do like the way your bike looks( it's very clean too, nice bike), maybe I could try that.
What size is that front spoke?, oh, duh, 19"
And funny you showed me those awesome pics, I just bought a black drag bar off ebay, I like yours alot.
Thanks for the bearing sizes, that will help me out alot if I go your route.
The more I look at your bike, the more inspired I feel about mine, you have done nice work Mr.nosx
