Zx6r(636) Steering Stem Press Direction was created by Old Man Rock
Hey all,

I have a ZX6r(636) front end where I need to press out the steering stem from the bottom triple tree.

With the KZ900 stem, grind and tap out from the bottom of the tree in the direction up to the top. Meaning the whole shaft does not have to go through the tree.

Anyone know exactly the direction of the press is for the ZX stem?

Meaning, press the bottom up towards the top or is the stem pressed down through the bottom...

With the top side tree apperature being somewhat bigger I would assume this presses down through the tree...

Wholly crap, have no idea what the hell I just asked/wrote.... :woohoo:

WTF old man, now I'm confused...

Not sure if this helps but when I presses the stem from the '01 Gsxr front end going on my 900 I pressed it down through the clamps.
