KZ900 center stand length? was created by Rod.
Hi,
Just got my first bike, a '76 KZ900, and am wanting to put a center stand on it. I found a center stand on ebay but it's too short so I'm thinking its for a 16" rear wheel (LTD?, except they weren't standard equipment).

Anyway, can anyone tell me how much longer the stand's legs are for the 18" wheel? Seems like it would be only 1" but if I'm going to go to the trouble of welding extensions, I'd like to be sure.

Thanks,
Rod.

Hello Rod...my centerstand (for a 1977 KZ1000A1) is the same as for the KZ900A model. It measures 11 and 5/8 inches (296mm) from the bottom of the two legs to the center of the bolt that attached it to the frame. My bike has an 18" rear wheel.

my LTD1000 did not have a center stand, so I cut the center sections out of a stand off a 650 I had extra, I slide some allthread in when I use the center stand, works great
