Front brake cable for 1978 KZ200

Noticed your post in the Fireboard forum about difficulty in finding a front brake cable for your 1978 KZ200. Am repeating your inquiry here in case someone missed it under Fireboard.

According to Kawasaki.com, the cable is part number 54005-089 which is also used on 1979 KZ200-A2.

Am assuming the Kawasaki dealership is saying this particular cable is no longer available.

Might consider replacing with a custom-made cable. Is there enough left of the existing cable to measure the housing length and the inside cable length?

Saw this recent post by steell in another thread and
wondered if Z1E has been contacted about the cable.

www.z1enterprises.com can get you a starter clutch rebuild kit, and can probably get you any starter rebuild parts you need. They can get pretty much any KZ parts that are still available (many parts are NLA, No Longer Available).
