I need to know if any of you have modified the stock footpeg position on a KZ1000LTD 77-78 I have a stripped down rigid and, I am trying to get a bit more leg room by modifying the brackets that bolt to the frame, the brake pedal and, shift lever. Anyone tried this before?

I must remove my skin.....

I bought a set of Honda VTX forward mounts. I hope the master cylinder will work with my rear caliper. You can make anything work. Just remember to keep the the same distance to the pivot points, and it works much better if the action is parallel to the other. I like to use ball joint type fittings, they are stronger. The origonal shift lever can be used, just cut and weld a stud to mount the ball joint. use a threaded rod with lock nuts to get it exactly right. You can use all-thread for mock up.
manual brakes would work the same way, and if you want to keep the stock rear brake setup, you could weld the tabs at the pivot and connect the same way.
