If your just looking for a replacement, hardly sportsters shocks will work with a few easy mods and they can be had cheaply off ebay.

For performance progressive are the only moderately priced shocks. Works and Ohlins are performance shocks are very nice; but pricey.

I just bought a sweet pair of Works from their ebay outlet store. Brand new they retail for about $230... much cheaper than the ones on their website etc. They are very high quality and customizable. They'll setup the spring rate, preload, and dampening rate for you specifically. If you're shocks are 13.75" long, give them a call and mention part number BB-53-204.

I use Progressive type 12 shocks on my shaft drive (heavy bike) and they ride great. Z1Entperises.com carries Progressive shocks at very good prices.

You need to buy shocks and springs separately; combo costs about $220 plus ship.

I bought HAGON shocks and I love them. They look great and work even better. Dave Quinn will set them up for you based on the type of riding you do, and he does a great job.
