Straight fork!!

Couple kudos to jjdwoodman for advise on how he straightend his forks! I decided to do mine and after about 1 1/2 hours with a 40 ton press it is virtually perfect! Checked on four sides with a straight edge and am amazed with the result. Thanks to everyone who advised me with my "wrong fork" issue, I can now reinstall my original front end. Thanks guys... John

Thanks Bluemeanie, I'm glad you got them straight. I really like the looks of your blocks. Looks alot easier to use than my oak blocks! Hope you get the bike up and running soon.;)

thats great that you straightnd them. but you may have created stress cracks in the tubes. i think the tubes are hardend.you may want to think about that. cant you just use the upper tubes from the new forks and the lower part from your old forks?

way cool, glad you got it fixed.
I dont think you would have put any stress cracks in them but you could get them maginifluxed if you wanted to play it safe

I see guys doing this on the Concous website quite a bit. Stress cracks? Probably not...
