SR rotors? was created by Bluemeanie
My new ebay (very nice) forks have the caliper mounting bolts about 5/8" lower than my old forks. I was informed on another site that I may have SR forks. Apparently they use smaller rotors (mine is 11 11/16 or 297mm diameter). Does any one here have a SR rotor off a bike to give me a measurement? I need diameter and back spacing (see pic) My rotor says min thickness 4.5mm on back. Using an SR rotor may solve my problem! Thanks...

The 10 7/8" sounds good, the 1.25 bothered me. I checked mine again but this time put the tape in the center hole measuring to the top (duh!) My 53 yo eyes came up with just under 1 3/16". Problem is that I really need to "borrow" a SR rotor and mock it up to see if it works. Can you somehow measure from center of axle to lower caliper bolt? I think a straight line would work. Thanks... John (below is my fork problem, new fork on bottom)

From the bottom of the fork where the stud screws in to the center of the lower bolt hole is roughly 2 1/2 inch.

Thanks sleeper, you stepped up and gave me crucial measurements. Mine are the same as yours so it appears I have SR forks designed for dual discs. Mine is a single disc, a little worried going to a smaller single. I don't have the moola to convert to dual. It should work fine as my single disc stops so good it's almost too much! Another member here just straightend his forks with great results, I have access to a press so will try that too. I would really like the original front end back on, don't want a frankenbike if I can help it. Thanks again sleeper, you've been a great help. Ride safe...
