front MC rebuild kit
16 Oct 2007 11:05
i bought the k&l kit from z1 last year. i bought the kit they have listed on z1 as 32-8061. but after disassembly and trying to fit the new parts, its obvious this kit is too big to fit in my MC. im under the understanding that the bike is stock so i dont have any reason to think that this MC is not a kz750 one. are there any other 750ers out there that have done the rebuild? i just retrying it again and lubed it really good with brake fluid, but its so snug i just cant even get the first rubber sleeve even in! someone know what im talking about?? i emailed z1 asking for confirmation but i reviewed their site and they have the same part listed as the one i have. the only thing i can think of is a larger MC rebuild kit got stickered as a 750? things have happened before, so i guess this is a possibility.

I believe the 750 uses a 5/8" master cylinder since it's dual disk (assuming we are talking about the front), and I don't think there is anything larger (at least not in that style).
They are supposed to be a tight fit.

i took off the rubber sleeve on the bottom to see if it would even go into the assembly and it wouldnt go. as in the hole is not physically big enough to allow the piston assembly access. so they sent me the wrong size?

Perhaps he's talking about the back MC? I haven't had that one apart yet on my bike so I can't say if it's 1/2" or not. Front one should be the 5/8 for the dual front disks, of course those could have been (unwisely) changed out for a single disk setup.
Never know with these old bikes really, found some really interesting stuff on mine (blinker and emergency light relay doused in battery fluid and corroded through) etc.
