Does anybody know if the thread size for mirrors on a 82 KZ1000 LTD is 8mm or 10mm?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Should be 10mm, which IIRC is the "industry standard" for all of the import bikes (Yamaha however has a left-handed thread on one mirror...I have no clue why either ).

They have a left hand thread on the left hand mirror to theoretically stop a slight bump on the mirror or the wind from loosening the mount. I myself don't tighten the mirrors really tight to help keep the handlbar vibration from getting to the mirror and yes I have loosened the left one by bumping it. Never had trouble with the right one though .
Ride safe.

Funny that you should mention that milkman.
I, as well as KZJohn, keep the mirrors on our bikes slightly loose as well. That way they spin rather than break if we happen to clip a car mirror when splitting lanes in traffic. ;)
