rear brake question

have an 81 kz650 h1 csr.
question, diagram shows rear brakes as being drum brake setup. this bike actually is rear disk. 1st is could it have come this way? second, if not how can i find out how to get replacement parts. ie. rear disk, pads and master?

I've got an 81 650 CSR as well and you are correct they are supposed to come equipped with a rear drum brake and spoked wheels as well. I suspect your bike might have a mag rear wheel? What do you have for a front wheel setup, a mag with dual disc or a spoke wheel with a single disc? The 650 CSR and the 750 LTD's share a common frame so someone may have swapped the 750 wheel and brake setup onto your bike. Also if you have any pics, that may help us nail down what you have.

Ok odds are good that some PO just swapped the parts off a 750 LTD onto your bike. The 650 CSR did not have a mount for the second disc on the RH side of the fork lowers. My guess is that someone put the rear disc setup as well as the mag wheel from a 750 LTD on your bike. Hard to say for sure without pics, but that would be my best guess.

actually there are mounting tabs on the right lower fork. just no caliper. wish i could post pics on this one. will see if i can come up with a camera to do so.
