beefier kickstand for '79 KZ1000 ST?

I just had a 82 KZ1000 in my shop with a severely bent kickstand. It had the curve of a banana.

The owner was a big guy (over 300 pounds) and says he does not put his weight on the kickstand. (I guess it bent from fear he WOULD sit on it).

I straightened it with a oxy-acetylene torch, then mig welded a reinforcing brace to the side of the arm. I put it on the side facing the ground when the stand is up. I used a piece of1/2" angle steel.
I did not take a picture but here is a drawing of what I did.

O.K. so I'm safe in assuming that if the stand sticks out 3-4 inches to the side when it's UP that it's bent?
I don't mind replacing it, but as I've never had the occasion to see another KZ in person, and it's been this way since I got it, I didn't know for sure if it was supposed to be that way. Did the SR's with 16" rear wheel use anything special or will most stands be the same?

no worries--I hope I didn't come off snotty. I appreciate anyone's help and definitely understand that time is at a premium. I've had the bike long enough that another day or so isn't gonna change much! Hell, I'm to the point that I've got blocks of wood at home, work, and various locations all around town so I don't have to carry one most of the time!

thank you, thank you, thank you!! Mine's definitely bent as compared to yours. I noticed it was loose and was holding on to the hope that I could just squeeze the mounting ears together, but after seeing yours, I'm off to replace it! Mine is not bent like Kz_rage bike is. That stand is way bent. Mine is basically straight. My ST doesn't lean over hardly at all, but only has 4000 pampered miles on it.
