Fatter tires & wider swingarms for 750 Twin

I get the idea from other discussions here that it is possible to use a different swingarm and either increase the swingarm length and/or utilize a wider tire. I address this because I was examining my 83 750 twin belt drive and it looks like a chain could move to the outside and allow for a wider tire which I would like for looks. The stock swingarm is close to the orignial tire.
It may have been another Kawasaki that was being discussed, I couldn't tell. If it's possible to go wider by replacing the swingarm and moving the chain sprocket out a bit I'm all for it. Installing a jack shaft to move the sprocket is a big job and I would go way wide (18-240) if I had to do that. Lengthening the swingarm is not an issue one way or the other for me. It might force the upper shock mounts to widen as well but I don't see that as a major problem.
