1978 KZ650 front wheel compatibility was created by outaline
Hi

Apologies if this is a dumb question but I got a front rim with a flat spot and I'm looking around for a new rim/wheel. Other than the diameter, is there another measurement I need to look for? Basically I want to know if I can look for other makes like honda etc. for a wheel that fits.

Thanks!

Are you looking for a particular style? Or just something cheap? Mag or spoke? The KZ 550 has mag wheels that will bolt right on to a 650B but not a C or D... If you have a 650 b, I have a front spoke wheel that will fit it, but it needs a tire.

My model is a 650b.

I don't really have a preference. I might be interested in the spoked wheel you have - don't need the tire. Is it fairly true?

my email is koids@hotmail.com if you don't mind send me a pic and a price.

Thanks!

I just went and checked and the 550 wheels will not bolt on a 650 B or C. The 550's use the leading axle style of fork so their axles are a smaller diameter than the 650 B & C models. You can use the 550 front mag on a CSR though because they have the leading axle forks.

Thanks, Gringo!

I've swapped out rears on those before and just assumed the fronts would too. good to know!

My spoked wheel is pretty clean and is serviceable, just last time I bought tires they had rims already attached. I'll try to post a pic here if I can borrow a digital cam. It does have some light surface rust in a few spots, but I think it's better than average.
$15 and you pay shipping, but I can pull the tire to drop the weight some. I'll just throw the tube in the box.

Can you swap the csr forks with the forks on the kz650b to get the 550 mag front wheel to bolt on?

I have a chance for a set of 550 mag wheels and I would love to put them on my kz650.

Basically, what is my easiest method to get mag wheels on my kz650.

thanks a ton. Lenwoodbluz
