lowering front forks

I am looking to lower the front of my 76 kz 900. I want to give it a more aggressive look. I have heard that you can cut the spring in the forks but i don't like the idea if that slop travel. Is there another alternative or is there a set of forks from a newer bike that will fit w/ minimal mods?

sliding the forks thru the triple trees about an inch will work. a lot of folks have done that. (including me)

schnitz.com has lowering tubes that fit in the forks. They are cheap. I had a set of forks I just sold on ebay that had them. I figured since I was putting in a new set of seals why not?

If your plan ultimately requires shorter springs, they will be stiffer if you cut them. You may end up buying new shorter and lighter springs in order to get the look and ride you desire.

A simple 3/4 in. up in the trees worked for me.
