fork tubes are killing me man!

alright, im taking apart my fork tubes and im using the poker tool kawi recommends you use to hold the damper tube from spinning around like crazy when you undo the allen bolt at the bottom of the tube. it worked for the first tube, but the second one is giving me mondo problems. it doesnt feel like its spinning but that doesnt help any cus i know already that its not working cus it wouldve started coming out... i think ill have to take it to my dads work tomorrow and have him blast it with his impact gun unless you guys think thats a bad idea??? this feels more like a pissy complaint rant post.

im way too stubborn for my own good. if anyone cares, this is how i got it out without using an air tool. its quite easy really, i used the kawi poker tool like youre supposed to do, but with one minor addition, i draped a shop rag over it so it looked like a red pointy headed ghost, minus the eyes, and then proceeded to stick it in. with the rag over the pointed tip, it had an easier time gripping the hole, and it came out with so much ease, i almost felt guilty. the coolest thing was, when i put the allen bolt back in for reassembly, i didnt have to use the shop rag trick. funny that its a b*tch to get out but its like butter to put in. anyone that doesnt own an impact gun should take note of this trick, cus its works like magic! mAAAGIiiic! or somethin' later.

You can also use a wooden broom handle cut at a 45 to hold the guts while you loosen the bolt.

With an air wrench you can leave the tubes
in triple trees and not even take the tops off.
Just put grease on the bolt head, insert, pour
in the fork oil, shove the works over the tube,
and zip it on.It takes two people but can be done.
I get to do it again this week.About every 8
years or so.
