'81 750H - spring hook thingy

OK, I just feel dumb over this one.

Prepping my bike for a move, I inadvertantly knocked off the right side panel. Underneath it was metal spring with two long hook ends which came off too.

Where does it go? What is it for?

sounds like your rear brake light switch spring.
one end hooks to the pedal, the other to the switch.

Thanks, I found the connector-less switch, but couldn't obviously see where the other side hooked!
