1982 kz550 ltd rear sprocket

Hi all, I need to change the rear sprocket on my bike and was wondering if any of you could give me directions and any hints or pointers in doing it. all help will be appreciated.

And here's the parts diagram from Kawasaki.com.

To remove rear wheel without a centerstand, may use a common automotive floor jack under right side to lift bike onto front wheel and sidestand enough to raise rear wheel off the ground for removal. At least this method works on the 900's.

Don't know if it's necessary to remove chain guard.
