kz1000 swingarm to fit kz650?

O.K.first of all I want to thank you guy for all the previous help! This site is great and saves me from making mistakes that most of you have gone through!Cant thank you enough!
Once again im in need of advice.Im starting the building process of a 77 KZ650B.I want a rear brake set up.I got my hands on a KZ1000 rear swing arm set up for rear disc.I also have wheels from a rear disc bike(mags).Should I just fab-up my 650 swingarm with the parts off the 1000 swingarm,or will the 1000 swingarm be the better deal???The 1000 seams to be longer and wider at the frame.
any body care to expand on this!

the 1000 swingarm is about 1.5 inches longer but should be a pretty close fit in the frame.

tried to mock it up today.The front where it bolts to the frame is about a 1/2 inch to long.should I grind the frame a little on each side.The frame has what looks like spacers welded from the factory on both sides where the swing arm bolts in.Or will the kz750 set up bolt right in.

i think the 650 and 750 frames are the same on the 4 cylinders

Ratmeister just did this conversion on his 650 and it went pretty well. He had to take off a little material at the swingarm pivot and a get a longer chain. Other than that he had to fab up a custom "torsion bar" if I have that right. It works well and looks good. If you didn't know what you were looking at you would never know it wasn't stock.
