Tire size

Does anyone know if a 130/90h18 will fit as a rear tire for a 1976 KZ900? There was a 120/90h18 on it before I ran over a nail. Any info would be greatly appreciated because I've seen conflicting answers online. Thanks.

I've actually got a 140/90/18 on the back of my 76 900. very close to the swingarm but about 3-4mm clearance each side.

With stock chainguard you won't fit a 130 I don't believe.
321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

Didn't occur to me at the time but I should clarify.... I don't have any chain guard fitted. That's obviously how I managed to shoehorn a 140 in there.

The 130 will work fine with an LTD or
aftermarket chain guard.
aftermarket chain guard.

i've got a 130/80-18 on both bikes (with chain guards)..
fits just fine. i don't think you could go up to a 140/90 without running into clearance problems.
