any recomondations as to were i should buy tires for my 83 spectra? would the local dealer be able to beat prices on line? if i buy online do i pay shipping? if i buy at dealer would they mount for free? mabey stupid questions but i need to know. thanks for any replys.

In my experience, you will not get the lowest prices from a local dealer. They generally do charge for mounting, even if you buy the tires from them. There may be some exceptions, but generally this is true. The prices I have been quoted for mounting have been around $20-25 per tire (with the wheels off the bike).

I've heard that some shops will not mount tires that were purchased elsewhere. I've never experienced this myself. The local shops were all happy to take my $40 to mount them.
