I think I did good was created by The Gringo
Ever since I put a set of Vulcan rear shocks on my 650 C-1 I now watch Ebay from time to time trying to find additional sets for my other bikes. The 750 and larger Vulcans use air assisted rear shocks and tend to fetch quite a bit more than the $29.00 including shipping I paid for the 500 Vulcan shocks I bought.

Last week I searched for Vulcan shocks and saw a pair from a 2005 1500 Vulcan mean streak listed with a buy it now price of $50.00 and an opening bid of $.99. I put in a bid of $20.01 and wound up winning them for $5.50 :) I decided to splurge on the shipping and have them shipped priority for $10.35 so for a total of $15.85 I now own these shocks.

Just for shits and giggles today I checked the price for them on Ron Ayers.......$349.11 EACH! I think I'm going to put them on my 81 650 CSR or one of the 81 750 LTD's. Who says you can't get good deals on Ebay anymore?

WOW !! Great score !!! Every now and then we do get deals.
I got a NOS still in the box six bolt front rotor for my Z1 for $13.56 SHIPPED off ebay. It must have cost that much to ship it:blink:
I had no problem leaving positive feedback on that one;)
Again glad you got them!

Hey Gringo, I've been wanting to lower the rear on my 750 twin and have been told to get shorter shocks. Stock length is 13.5" and I was thinking of going to 11.5 or 12" but I can never find a pair that says they will work on my 750. Do you think these Vulcans would work?
Thanks
Ron
Oh BTW, good score;)

Ron, I don't think these new shocks are shorter than a std KZ shock but the thing I liked about them was the air adjust and the fact that they were only 2 years old and cheap :P . That said I think the 500 Vulcan shocks will achieve what you want to do with no issues. Here is a link to what they look like on my 650, I would say they would work on your bike real well.

Ron I don't think they need to be any special year just look for 500 Vulcan shocks they haven't changed that bike much over the years all the shocks should be the same.

Well I recieved the 1500 Mean streak shocks last week and just thought I should update this thread. First of all these things are huge and would look totally stupid if I tried to put them on one of my KZ's. Also they are 2 different lengths apparently due to the fact the Mean streak uses a shaft drive. I suspect that the 750/800 Vulcan is the same as well from the pics I have seen. Live and learn I guess. I guess at some point I'll just relist them on Ebay I'm sure I won't have any problem recooping my $15  . I just didn't want this thread hanging around and have anyone trying to do this swap. The 500 Vulcan shocks do work well though as a shorter substitute for KZ shocks.
