ZX6R swingarm on KZ650?

Has anyone swapped a ZX6R swingarm onto a KZ650? Or does anyone know the dimensions? The one I am looking at is from a 2001.

Thanks

Judging from the parts diagrams, I would say yes, I think they are the same.

it will more than likely be about 1/4" wider than the stock swingarm, in which you will have to grind a hair off each side of frame where the swingarm mounts.

Here is a picture of my '82 GPZ with a '03 636 swingarm/shock:

thanks, Jeff. Very helpful. Did you have to sleeve it, and do you know how much over stock it is?

Yes, I had to have a sleeve made to fit the stock swingarm axle. As for being over stock, I'm assuming you mean the length, right? If so, it was around 2-3" longer than the stock swingarm.

Question for Jeff...

Was there a reason/need to sleeve the inner swing arm pivot tube versus enlarging the pivot bolt holes in the frame?

I have a 1976 KZ900-A4 in which I'm converting to this exact swing arm. The KZ pivot bolt is 5/8" versus the ZX pivot bolt dimension of 3/4"...

Thanks in advance,

I believe that making a new sleeve is much easier than line boring the two frame holes so that they are exactly straight.

Another point would be that the frame would be made more weak with less material from the drilling. The sleeve would probably help in the strength thing also.
