Hey guys I was looking at that thread and those $200 brackets and thought why not just make some. I guess you guys don't have access to a welder. I found a piece of pipe that was about the right size in the scrape pile at the local metal yard for $5. I also had a pair of the cheep headlight brackets that clamp on the legs. I cut the arms off the brackets and cut the pipe in half and cut some tabs from a piece of plate. After some welding, grinding and some drilling I'll have some brackets for about $30. I'll use a piece of inner tube as a cushion.

I don't know yet. I didn't have time to weld them up today. I should be able to show you tomorrow. I may send them out with the bumper man and get them plated, not sure on that? He would do them for free so I may.

Well I ended up just making new arms for the light. I only finished one side and I still need to drill the light mount hole. I'm going to do that on the forks to get the light right where I want it. Just using scrap I only have about $10 in it. Looks like I'll make a few to go with the different lights I have for different paint jobs.

These I mig welded The rest I'll tig weld at a friends shop to make them pretty. I'm thing about having them nickel plated, shinny but not too shinny.

I don't see why not. Do you know what that is inches? The ones I made fit my ZX7 forks, like I said I'm making more than one set for myself. The rest of them I'm going to tig weld and they'll look better.

I dont know how close the pipe you found is to the diameter of your legs, but why not just use a piece slightly larger (a couple thousandths), and slot it so it can pinch closed on one end? That would give it a cleaner look.

That is what I did for my project. I have GSXR front fork legs. I found a piece of scrap pipe that was close. I did have to bore it out on a lathe to get it right, but it looks really nice. I am sure it wouldnt be too tough to find a piece pretty close. I just used what I had laying around. I understand most dont have a lathe at their disposal. It was just easier for me to throw it int he lathe rather then search through the scrap!
If I can find them in my pile of parts!
I will post a pic.

I could cut out some of the pipe to make it look different but cutting a KZ or Z1 in the plate I can't do. I'll check with a buddy who has a sheet metal shop.
