title says it all. I found a really nice GPz gas tank, but the guy says it's for a GPz1100. really looks like my 750 tank, and it's cheap, so I want it if it'll work. any input? thanks a bunch!

I have never tried it, but have always been told the 1100 tanks are longer. I know the seats are different on the 82's and 83-85's.

What year GPz's gentlemen? I can only speak for the early year GPz's. The 1981 and 1982 GPz1100 tanks differ only in paint scheme. The 1982 GPz750 and 1100 are NOT 'drop-in' replacements. You might be able to fabricate an 1982 1100 tank on a 1982 750 frame but not the other way. The tanks are easily distinguished: the 1981/2 1100 tank has a raised wide midline ridge while the 750 tank is smooth. Be careful on eBay...a common mistake by sellers is to confuse the early model 750 and 1100 GPz tanks.
