Reducing trail
26 Jun 2007 13:58
I have seen a few posts on rake and trail etc. I want to reduce trail for the sidecar I mounted. I know I can get a leading-link fork for $2,200: a bit pricey for this bike. It seems to me that the cheapest way would be to get raked triple trees (fork yokes). For a solo bike, this is a bad idea because it reduces trail, but that's exactly what's needed for the sidecar.
Anybody know of a source for a '78 KZ650?
Other ideas?

How about a photo of the Rapide ? This is older than some 90% of the members.

A zillion years ago I had a sidecar on my Z1. I installed 6 over tubes on the forks and it worked just fine. A raked triple tree would work but I have no idea where to find one. I would like one for my 82 KZ1100 as I want to put a sidecar on it. The wife will not ride behind any longer but will ride in a sidecar. If you find a place that sells raked triple trees for old bikes, let me know.....chris3
