Style Question

I bought some long-stem front blinkers off ebay, hoping they would clear the windshield mount brackets. No luck. Now I am down to style - like the long or short-stem blinkers?

short. but I dont know what other stuff your doing to your bike. but from what I see, I like the short better. if your going to put a front fairing on then I'd say the long.

The long look more stock, plus they separate the turn signal/running light farther from the headlamp which may improve your chances of being seen.

Jim are you still fighting with getting that windsheild mounted? I think the answer to the problem may be to use a set of signals that clamp to the handlebars like the ones used on the LTD/SR/CSR models. Surely somebody around here has a set laying around or they should be easy to find on Ebay. Kawasaki used them on a ton of different models from the 250's all the way up to the 1000's.

Sure am! I thought the longer stems would give me clearance, but the mount bar and the stems want to occupy the same space

I might have to try the signals you mention, though I am trying to stay stock. The windsheild is for cold weather, and perhaps long rides on the highway - neither of which apply at the moment, so I have time to mess around.

From what I can see in the FSM pics, the longs are stock, though this manual covers 76-79, with a "supplement" section for 78-79 (A whopping 14 pages out of 230!) so most, if not all, of the pics are probably a 76 bike. Anyone know if the stem length changed during years?

Personally, I think I like the short (maybe because I had them on their first, and I am simply used to them), but if longs were stock, I will stick with them.
