Lowered bars on my KZ650

So started to fit my lowered bars to the Z650.....as usual jumped in with both feet.

The bolts holding the switchgears were rusty as heck and had to be ground off. Then took a while to get the throttle cables removed. Might fit new while they are off, depending what condition they are in.

One thing I didn't even think of, Just thought "Hey that might look good", was the effect on handling.
The bars clear the tank when on full lock. But is there anything else I should be aware of.

The front master cylinder is almost level for topping up and bleeding when the bike is on its side stand.

But what about actual handling, performance wise. Any thoughts.....I just need grips and bar ends now.

Heres a couple of pics.

Anyone else have these sort of bars fitted????

The gaiters came with the bike.

I got gaiters for my z250 project from a company called www.busters-accessories.co.uk and come in 2 sizes and different colours. They used to do 4 sizes, so not sure which I have.
This is from their website.

# Med L250mm x T32 x B60mm
# X/L L350mm x T41mm x B60mm

* L = Length T = Top diameter B = Bottom diameter.

They are a UK company, and I'm in the UK.

Are they not widely available in the States?

Edit: I just checked. I have the medium ones for the z250.

Pay no attention to the light switches. I turned out those throttle cable elbows awhile after that. It feels really good, not too much weight on the wrists and they give me really good handling, allows me to whip the bike into corners better than the OEM ones. I rode the bike on a whippy rode in the mountains. I put the same bars on the 1000
