I've seen a bunch of late model sportbike front ends and swingarms installed on KZ's. Are there any particular year and model parts that bolt up or perhaps require less machining/fabrication than others to make work? Seems like some of these parts may just require a bearing and/or spacer swap. I have an 81 KZ1000CSR and any guidance regarding this matter will be greatly appreciated!

From what I've seen and heard, a Suzi GS1100 swingarm is the prefered choice.
The front end is an entirely diff matter, and usually ends up being what's personally preferable and available. And if complete with wheel and brakes, that makes it all the better.

You can get any front end "on" that you want. The easiest way will be to make sure you have the complete clip (triple on down) and then have a shop press the stem out of the new stuff and put your KZ stem in the new triple. The new triple will probably be bigger so the shop will need to make a bushing to fill in the difference, then weld the stem in place. A custom top bushing can be made to take up that slack also.
I've done it on my 'J' and am in the process of doing it again to an ELR clone that I have.
I've gone the route of parting together a front end and it ended up costing me waaaaaaay more by trying to cheap out. Just a warning...get a complete front end.
