I need to purchase new tires for my KZ750 LTD. It has the stock rims and I run a 100/90-19 in front and 130/90-16 out back. I have been running Kenda Sport Challengers on the bike which I like because they stick well, ride nice in the rain and can be had for $50-60 a tire. I ride aggressively and scrape the pegs (I have new rear shocks and it still happens). I have my own tire changer so I can fit the tires myself. I am open to spending more money on tires if they last longer than the current Kenda's do and perform as well or better. The rear tire is shot in 2000-3000 miles and the front in 5000-6000 miles.
Twice the money, twice the mileage, means half the work.

Maybe a change to 18" wheels will give you a wider range of tires to choose from.

I know I ride this bike how it was not meant to be ridden, but I can't help it. I really like the 750-4 motor.
So, does anyone know if 18" wheels are a bolt on swap for the bike or would there be more to it. I know that the standard model had 18" rear, but what bikes had an 18" front? Has anybody else done this to there LTD?

Usually, the better the grip, the softer the rubber, sothey don't last as long. I like the Dunlop GT501, but I don't know if it comes in 16".

Try either Dunlop GT501's or Metzlers ME880's.

But yeah, the stickier the tire, the longer it takes to warm up and the mileage expectancy goes down.
